LowPowertrainDIY: Easy

Can you still drive? Yes, simply tighten or replace the gas cap. The code should clear on its own after a few drive cycles.

What Does P0457 Mean?

Code P0457 specifically indicates that the EVAP system has detected a leak consistent with a loose or missing fuel cap. Unlike the generic leak codes, P0457 is designed to alert the driver that the fuel cap was not properly tightened. Many vehicles will display a separate fuel cap warning message alongside the check engine light.

CHILD SEAT:VEHICLE TETHER ANCHOR

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The child seat tether welds on the second-row, right-side seat frame may be insufficient, which can reduce the seat's ability to properly restrain a child during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Remedy: Dealers will replace the second-row, right-side seat frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 29, 2026.
